Descripción
Sumario:This article reproduces the paper given at the conference "Productive activity and transformation of the Empordà environment", organized by the IEE in 2014. It reconstructs some of the tension s registered by the livestock farms in the Empordà during the half of the 20th century, in the context of higt pressures on lands and falling agricultural prices, especially for the most traditional crops (wheat, wine and oil). It contrasts the worsening situation of agricultural day-laborers, which led to a conflict on subleasing livestock farm's lands, with the trajectory of accumulation recorded by leaseholder families. It also correlates the evolution that started to show for the group of large landowners, with a notable presence in the area, and which, in the medium term, strengthened a class of medium-sized farmers
