Sumario:This project presents a comprehensive competitive intelligence of the global silicone market, examining key industry players and evaluating their financial performance, sustainability initiatives, recycling efforts, investment strategies, product portfolios, patent holdings and other relevant competitive factors. The analysis was conducted as part of my role as a strategist during my most recent internship at Company A, based in Germany. The primary objective was to perform a competitive intelligence assessment of the competitive landscape, regarding the company’s activity in the industry. Simultaneously, the project aimed to explore opportunities for automating and integrating data collection and analysis processes, to ensure strategic insights could be more effectively leveraged by the strategy teams across different business lines within the organisation. To support this effort, a range of tools and methodologies were gathered, discussed and proved in order to select the optimal solution. Additionally, several interviews with external companies specialized in automation and competitive intelligence solutions were conducted, with the objective of identifying a robust and scalable system tailored to company’s future needs. During the course of this thesis, all procedures, methodologies and tools employed throughout the project will be detailed, along with the ideas, discussions, challenges encountered, and the solutions developed along the way. Further, a brief example will be provided to illustrate how a competitive analysis is conducted in practice. The thesis will conclude with a careful presentation of key insights, strategic recommendations, and actionable solutions derived from the project, along with a set of proposed next steps and personal recommendations based on personal perspective as a strategist within the company.
