Icnofacies de Skolitos en el Mioceno Superior del borde meridional de la Cuenca del Guadalquivir (Arcos de la Frontera, Cádiz)
An ichnological assemblage from the Upper Miocene bioclastic calcarenites in the Southern edge of the Guadalquivir Basin is studied. The Skolitos ichnofacies is recognized from two basic ichnocoenoses. The first one is composed by Bichordites cf. monasteriensis, Laminitesf, Palaeophycus tubularis an...

| Sumario: | An ichnological assemblage from the Upper Miocene bioclastic calcarenites in the Southern edge of the Guadalquivir Basin is studied. The Skolitos ichnofacies is recognized from two basic ichnocoenoses. The first one is composed by Bichordites cf. monasteriensis, Laminitesf, Palaeophycus tubularis and Rosselia socialis, which characterized an oportun is tic colonization on a moderate -high energyc on ditions and a relatively low sedimentation rate. When the sedimentation increases, a Skolitos (Monocraterion) cf. tentaculatum, Rosselia in cone-in-cone and equilibrichnia-fugichnia structures appear. At last, the most remarkable biological record is represented by the spatangoide chinoids activity |
