Sumario:[EN] The under-representation of women in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) university programmes remains a persistent problem around the world. Despite ongoing efforts to close the gender gap, various social, cultural and structural barriers continue to limit women's participation in these disciplines. Stereotypes, lack of female role models and prejudices often discourage women for selecting or remaining in STEM careers. Furthermore, UNESCO's 2030 Agenda, through the Sustainable Development Goal 5: Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls, highlights the significant digital gap that limits women's access to STEM careers and stresses the urgency of implementing concrete actions to reduce this inequality. Therefore, the aim of the article is to examine the progression of women in STEM programmes in Spain, focusing mainly on the Engineering area at Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) in Spain, with special attention to the Alcoy Campus. Based on this analysis, a framework will be developed that will encompass a set of actions to promote and encourage greater female participation in university STEM programmes, focusing mainly on the field of engineering.
