| Sumario: | [EN] Making inventories is the main mandate of the various documents and recommendations of national and international bodies concerned with the preservation of cultural heritage. Within this framework, this paper proposes a methodology and practice for carrying out an inventory of railway housing built in Spain during the second half of the 20th century. The chosen topic is justified by the reasonable availability of sources, which in many cases have been barely studied, and also by the scarcity of research of this nature in the Spanish railway historiography as a whole, as well as by the social relevance of the issue. The systematic recording of data has the double purpose of having ordered information on the subject of study, in this case, housing, and also of facilitating the analysis of this information to find patterns, singularities and interesting elements in the general study of the subject, thus helping in an adequate qualification and assessment of its heritage value. To this we should add a third objective, to which social researchers have not always been inclined, which is to have available information at any times, to facilitate the recovery of data and to share the results with other researchers so that they can be improved, rectified and further developed |
