| Resumo: | An approach to Descriptive Geometry from digital graphic tools is presented, in which the form of graphic interaction that arises from these tools is analysed, and the importance of their associated automatisms and procedures is discussed. We review the classic idea of graphical thinking to introduce the concept of “augmented graphical thinking”: this is linked to the new paradigm of simulation, which is understood as an evolution of the previous paradigm based on representation. Understanding this paradigm shift allows us to approach Descriptive Geometry with digital graphic tools from an in-depth gnoseological foundation, but not without observing certain contradictions that must be analysed and discussed. By focusing on the so-called digital automatisms, we demonstrate that these form part of a long tradition in the history of Graphic Expression, since, like other drawing mechanisms machines designed in the past, they involve the search for the “shortest way” to solve the problem of image construction. Lastly, in the conclusions we address the inevitable connection between Descriptive Geometry and Digital Fabrication |
