Descripción
Sumario:Virtual reality is a set of computer techniques that allow the creation of simulated images and environments in which the subject has a different level of interaction, while augmented reality can be defined as a technique that allows the inclusion of digital components in the physical world. Both technologies appear in numerous literary works, films and television series where their applications in health sciences have also been reflected. The objective of this work is to show the presence of medical uses of virtual reality and augmented reality in literature, cinema and television. These technologies have appeared in many titles, often ahead of scientific and technological development. Sometimes these are science fiction stories where these advances are talked about in a fanciful or not very credible way; or in a comic plot, but in other examples it has been adapted to reality. In addition to showing a recreational purpose, its applications in the medical field have also been reflected, both for teaching, improving environments, diagnosis and treatment of various pathological conditions such as neurological diseases or phobias.
