Sumario:With the support of the Basque Government, offshore longlines have been used for mussel production in Mendexa (“Bivalve Mollusc Production Area”) since 2019. This area is located about 2 nautical miles from the Basque coast (SE Bay of Biscay). Here, an Integrated Marine Observing System (IMOS) has been established to identify toxic HABs. This system includes in situ data, sampling activity, satellite images, numerical models and other external sources of information.
