Descripción
Sumario:Within the framework of this research on the life and career of Sinibaldo Mas—the first professor and director of the Barcelona School of Nautical Studies—special attention has been paid to the most relevant facts of his life, including the institutional tensions that marked the center's first years of operation. During his directorship (1769–1806), Mas not only had to consolidate the school's pedagogical project, but also face external pressures that sought to condition its autonomy.
