| Sumario: | [EN] Up to date, the genus Trigonaspis Hartig. (Hym. Cynipidae) included four european species. Two of them: T. synaspis Htg., and T. megaptera (Panzer) are widespread in Europe, while the other: T. bruneicornis Tavares and T. mendesi Tavares seem to be confined to the Iberian Peninsula. A new species: T. baeticus n. sp. is now added to the list and it is described from material reared from galls collected on Que rcus canariensis in southern Spain. The taxonomic status of these five species is discussed. A key for agamic females is provided and galls are figured. Bisexual generation alternating in the heterogonic life-cycle remains unknown for the three species endemic of the Iberian Peninsula. They appear to form a group of sibling species, almost morphologically indifferentiated but well segregated with regard to gall morphology and host plant preferences. |
