Back in Spain after an exile of more than three decades, she maintained a concern to promote her work. The letters exchanged since 1976 between Chacel and Jorge Guillén, her fellow member of the Generation of '27, give an account of the first contact between the two writers. Although surprisingly late, this correspondence reveals a deep literary affinity, as well as mutual respect and admiration for each other’s work. Chacel’s correspondence with the professor, critic and publisher Claudio Guillén, which began in 1975, is fundamental to understanding the process of translation of Racine’s Seis tragedias, published years later by Alfaguara (1983). Said publishing project consecrated Chacel as a renowned translator. The consultations and advice on the criteria to be followed for the Spanish version of the tragedies reveal that the writer and her editor shared an outstanding level of knowledge on poetic rhetoric, metrics, and the languages in which the bilingual edition was published. In the letters that Chacel addresses to the Guilléns, it is also possible to find abundant and significant information on the progress of other ongoing literary projects, such as the trilogy Escuela de Platón, the collection of poems Versos prohibidos, the biography Timoteo Pérez Rubio y sus retratos en el jardín, the diaries Alcancía. Ida y Vuelta, or her Novelas antes de tiempo.[ES] El análisis de la correspondencia entre Rosa Chacel con Jorge y Claudio Guillén prueba la firme vocación profesional de la escritora y su continuo esfuerzo por gestionar sus relaciones con editores y colegas. La preocupación por promover su obra, exiliada de España durante más de tres décadas, continuó tras su regreso al país. Las cartas intercambiadas desde 1976 entre Chacel y su compañero de la generación del 27, Jorge Guillén, dan cuenta de cómo se produjo el primer contacto entre los dos. Aunque sorprendentemente tardía, esta correspondencia revela una profunda afinidad literaria, así como el respeto y la admiración que ambos sentían por la obra del otro. Por su parte, la correspondencia de Chacel con el profesor, crítico y editor Claudio Guillén, iniciada en 1975, resulta fundamental para conocer el proceso de gestación del volumen Seis tragedias, de Racine, traducido por Chacel y publicado años después por Alfaguara (1983); un proyecto editorial que la consagró como reconocida traductora. Las consultas y consejos sobre los criterios a seguir para la versión al español de las tragedias revelan el destacado nivel de escritora y editor en el conocimiento de la retórica poética, la métrica y las lenguas en que se publicó esta edición bilingüe. En las cartas que la escritora dirige a los Guillén es posible encontrar también abundante y significativa información sobre la marcha de otros proyectos literarios, como la trilogía Escuela de Platón, el poemario Versos prohibidos, la biografía Timoteo Pérez Rubio y sus retratos en el jardín, los diarios Alcancía.
