Superiority that characterized the high magistracy that presided over the Council of Castile, the body in charge of the internal government of the Kingdom and a key piece of the polisinodial regime. Logically, the relevance and consideration of a political-administrative position of such extraordinary longevity – almost four and a half centuries of existence – was not exactly the same during its long history, since it depended both on the personality of the person chosen to perform it and on the ups and downs of the person himself. Castilian synod, which alternated stages of splendor with others of weakening followed by a new resurgence until its final decline.
