Description
Summary:This Master's Thesis presents the complete deployment and validation of a private 5G+ network at Campus Nord of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), within the framework of the European (UNICO I+D) ELEGANT and 6G-OpenLab projects. The work covers the planning, installation, configuration, and testing of a hybrid infrastructure combining optical and radio components, including FR1 and FR2 antennas, BBUs, and 5G core elements. The project focused on the radio layer, with detailed documentation of network management tools through both graphical and command-line interfaces. Validation tests confirmed correct operation, low latency, and reliable connectivity. This thesis provides a practical and technical reference for similar deployments in academic or institutional settings, with guides, configuration examples, and command manuals. While not aimed at future 6G research, the infrastructure contributes to ongoing innovation and experimentation in advanced mobile networks.
