| Sumario: | The article describes and analyzes the Spanish policies to deal with street prostitution since the end of 2005 when Barcelona's Bylaw on Coexistence was passed. This local bylaw prohibits and sanctions offering, negotiating or requesting of sexual services in public spaces. Most Spanish municipalities have adopted similar bylaws prohibiting prostitution in the street in recent years. The article aims to analyze the impact of these regulations and their implementation on the rights of people working in prostitution. In order to achieve this it takes into consideration contributions that feminist movements have made to debates on prostitution and public policies. |
