Sumario:Metal-organic Frameworks (MOFs) are one of the hot topics in materials science and technology due to their potential applications in many fields, such as heterogeneous catalysis, biomedicine for drug delivery or as sensors, among others. At the environmental level, they represent a great alternative in industry for the management of pollutants, such as the storage and separation of gases and the selective adsorption of pollutants in aqueous solution. The large variety of porous structures of MOF materials results from the combination of metal ions or clusters and organic linkers of different nature. Among these organic linkers, porphyrins are developing great interest in this field because of the natural functions they perform and their stability. In this context, the compound MPF@Ei2-3, [Ni5(H2TCPP)2O(H2O)4]·nS (where H6TCPP is meso-tetra(4-carboxyphenyl)porphyrin and S is the solvent) is presented in this work, where is studied its thermal and magnetic properties and proved as adsorbent of pollutants in liquid and gas phase. Adsorption of organic dyes in solution and adsorption of gases and calorimetry measurements were performed, as well as a study of the selectivity in gas mixtures confirming its multifunctionality due to its structure dependent properties.
