Composición de las comunidades de macrófitos y establecimiento del estado de conservación de charcas y lagunas de la Depresión del Duero (Noroeste de España) en base a criterios botáanicos

A total of 112 taxa (42 hydrophyte taxa and 70 helophyte species) were registered in the 57 ponds and lagoons studied in the Duero Basin (Northwest Spain). Descripción
Sumario:A total of 112 taxa (42 hydrophyte taxa and 70 helophyte species) were registered in the 57 ponds and lagoons studied in the Duero Basin (Northwest Spain). The most frequent hydrophyte species were Potamogeton trichoides, Polygonum amphibium, and Myriophyllum alterniflorum. In the helophyte or emergent vegetation Eleocharis palustris, Schoenoplectus lacustris subsp. lacustris, and Typha latifolia were common. Species with a very limited distribution were also registered, such as Potamogeton lucens, Chara vulgaris var. contraria, Tolypella hispanica, Utricularia minor, Callitriche hamulata, Nitella flexilis, Hippuris vulgaris, and Luronium natans, which are characterized for being of important botanical interest. According to botanical criteria which uses indices based on the importance of the hydrophytes and on floristic richness of each wetland, the assessment of the ponds and lagoons in the Duero Basin, has determined that 2 lagoons are of interest in Europe, and 10 are of interest in the nation.
