Sumario:In the developed countries, people aged 80 years and above will be the fastest growing segment of the older population in the coming decades. The “oldest old” is a population group that is missing from most of the non-institutionalized elderly people surveys and population studies due to recruitment difficulties because among other reasons, involvement normally decreases with age.
