| Sumario: | [EN] The Corpus Hippocraticum constitutes the first medical text sample, wholly preserved, writed in Greek language. Founded in reflection and born in a time, V B.C., in which the philosophical thought predominated and the pre-Socratic philosophers paid attention to the questions about nature and man, this medicine, as represented in the texts of the Corpus, soon arrived at a very high level in its daily task and theoretical expositions. It was fumished with theories and doctrines that explained, in a natural way, many of the pathologies that had been attributed to the magic, the superstition or the divinity. To those pioneering doctors of V B.C. succeeded many other doctors who incorporated important advances and discoveries in many fields. The most important of those was Galen in s. 11 A.D., second great landmark in that old medicine. |
