Sumario:[EN] Social change is built on paradigms andmodels. Aparadigmneeds an operational actionmodel to successfully implement the paradigm, and an operationalmodel needs aparadigmtogive it credibilityandcontent. This articledescribestheQualityofLifeSupportsModel(QOLSM)asamajorpath wayforapplyingthequalityof life(QOL)paradigm.TheQOLSMintegrates theconceptsofQOLand individualizedsupports. Thearticledescribes and illustrates: (a) the fourelementsof theQOLSM(corevalues, individual and familyQOLdomains, systems of supports, and facilitating conditions); and (b)theuseoftheQOLSMinthefieldofintellectualanddevelopmentaldisabil ities (IDDs)asaframeworkforsupportsprovision.Thearticlealsodiscusses howtheQOLSMrepresentsavalue-basedandactionablemodel that should be effective for solvingproblems regarding services and supports topeople withIDD,developingnewknowledge,makingmeaningfulchange,beingeval uated,andcontributingboththeoreticallyandoperationallytothefield.
