| Sumario: | [EN] The object of this article is to analyse the significance of Galeote’s case had in Psychiatry legitimacy process as a science in Spain. The author studies not only the psychiatric and degeneracy aspects of Galeote’s case but he also questions the traditional lecture of the case as a full psychiatric triumph. To that aim, the author analyses prosecutor and legal experts’ speeches, the legal opinion about Galeote’s madness issued by the Royal Academy of Medicine (Spain) and purposes to be in good terms with jurists since 1890. |
