Descripción
Sumario:Number rods have been commonly used as a material to support the development of number sense in primary education, mainly. However, it is a material that offers good opportunities to address practically all the mathematical senses of early childhood and primary education: numerical, algebraic, spatial, measurement and stochastic. From this perspective, the aim of this article is to provide a framework for the use of number rods to develop mathematical thinking from 3 to 12 years of age and to describe different activities organised according to the mathematical senses and age groups: 3-6 years; 6-8 years; 8-10 years; 10-12 years, respectively. In addition, some of the most representative activities are exemplified
