| Sumario: | [EN] We do not know the definitive text of the Libro de agricultura, which during its author's life, Gabriel Alonso de Herrera (ca. 1470-80 – ca. 1539), was reissued six times. In three of them it is noted the existence of additions and corrections, and in the last two it is pointed out that the person in charge of them was the agriculturist himself (Alcalá, 1524; Logroño, 1528; Alcalá, 1539). However, we still lack an overview that allows us to describe and analyze the different states that the work went through in its writing. Since, as was warned a long time ago, in 1528 and 1539 the volume underwent a substantial transformation, in this work I will pause to examine its first four editions (Alcalá, 1513; Toledo, 1520; s. l. [Zaragoza?], 1524; and Alcalá, 1524). This is for two fundamental reasons: they have never before been analyzed from this perspective —or from any other— and, for this very reason, they have never been linked to the changes in the last two impressions. It is, therefore, to establish the bases for a critical edition of the first geoponic treatise written in a Romance language. |
