Description
Summary:In this thesis we tried to work out a study, based on the particular record, perform an analysis of the structural. This inference method builds on the archaeological record and intends to build through it a proposal for an archaeological and historical for a specific area of the territory of La Rioja, the headwaters of Iregua river. Is confined to a very precise moment of the early Middle Ages, between the second half of the seventh century and the beginning of VIII (640-720). From there it has made the issue has to broader scales of analysis (regional, peninsular, etc.). Thorough analysis of one of the sites identified in the archaeological prospection of this territory (the hill fort of "El Castillo de los Monjes") have been observed so indicators that point clear, the military character of this enclave. Some parameters of its construction, such as poliorcetic show constructive patterns of clear Eastern influence, particularly the Byzantine field. This is included within the debate that currently exists in the Archaeology of early medieval Spanish architecture and its closest possible regarding construction. From there it carried out research proposals to see if it is possible to trace some evidence of "bizantinización" in part of the VII century Hispanovisigotic society.
