| Sumario: | Lipids are an extremely heterogeneous set of biomolecules present in our cells, tissues, and fluids, which have important structural, signaling and energy storagefunctions. The role of lipids as signaling molecules has been well established in the lastthree decades with numerous examples described along the literature. In the context oflipid molecules with signaling functions, lysophosphatidic acid (LPA) stands out. LPA exertsits extracellular signaling through the interaction with its receptors (LPA1-6), mediatingimportant cellular physiological processes. Among all the lysophosphatidic acid receptors, this work is focused on the LPA2 due to its underexplored biological relevance and the lackof potent and selective modulators with probed in vivo efficacy... |
