| Sumario: | José Luis Perales (Castejón, Cuenca, Spain, 1945) said goodbye to the stage in an extensive tour that took place between 2021 and 2022 after surpassing half a century of musical career and recording twenty-seven studio albums. The main purpose of this article is to analyze the songs that the singer, composer and producer performed in his two concerts in Cuenca, the city where he lived an important part of his career and the capital of the province where he was born, which took place on August 20 and 21, 2021. In the list, composed of twenty-three songs, included the themes Y cómo es él and Baladas para una despedida that appear in the title of this proposal, will be compared with the one he defended in other cities within the same tour. In addition, we will pay attention to his album of origin, style, production, record company, sense of masculinity and the references to the rural environment and small towns that he made and included in them. For this purpose, we start from a case study based on a qualitative, analytical, stylistic and descriptive research of the songs offered in these dates, their recordings of origin, record label, original producers and a direct interview that his son, Pablo Perales, artistic director of this tour and of these concerts, gave to the researcher. Of course, it also takes into account the existing literature in academic circles about the Cuenca-born musician. |
