| Sumario: | This paper is an exercise of observation of the Attic pottery and small statuary, especially, of the Boeotian terracottas, and an analysis of the stage of the investigation of what has been pointed during the last decades on this topic in order to establish some preliminary conclusions about the use of head-dresses and the preference by women of one or another social class or ethnic group of the whole that lived in Athens during the classical period. Although images of Attic pottery are ideals that do not reproduce the reality, in this paper we analyse some particular cases that call into question the real value that these hair-dresses played in ancient Athens as an element of social differentiation. |
