Descripción
Sumario:The HiPerCap (High Performance Capture) project started 1st January 2014 as a part of the 7th framework program of the European Commission. HiPerCap aims to develop novel post-combustion CO2 capture technologies and processes which are environmentally benign and have high potential to lead to breakthroughs in energy consumption and overall cost. The project will study process concepts based on absorption, adsorption and membranes. These process concepts will be assessed using a novel methodology for benchmarking with new and emerging technologies, for which limited data are available and the maturity level varies substantially. Based on the assessment, two breakthrough technologies will be selected for more thorough benchmarking against demonstrated state-of-the-art technologies. This paper presents the objectives of the project, expected outcomes, and the results obtained within the first eight months period.
