Resumo:Corporate digitalization is presented in the current context as an immediate reality, with companies of all kinds having to adapt to digital changes that are taking place at a frantic pace, not only on grounds of competitiveness but in some cases, in order to survive. In this scenario of business digitalization, the use of ICT in management, also called organisational innovation, has traditionally been pushed into the background, with company resources focusing on the innovation of processes and products. In search of promoting and facilitating the use of technology in corporate bodies, from a legal perspective, this doctoral thesis analyses the way in which Cooperative Law deals with this subject, with particular reference to agri-food cooperatives. To this end, the main challenges faced by these companies as part of their digital transformation process are examined. Furthermore, this doctoral thesis aims to study whether the purest monitoring of the democratic control principle and self-management on the part of members, or outsourcing of some or all management duties do or do not have an influence on the degree of company digitalization, for which a case study is included.
