Sumario:[EN] The aim of this article is to investigate Remedios Varo's exile through new perspectives that allow us to delve into the processes of disruption and reconstruction that the identity of the exile subject undergoes. Therefore, we resort to the anthropological concept of liminality, theorized by Homi K. Bhabha as a state of transit, as a space in which identity crises occur and from which the subject reformulates his worldviews. In order to deepen into the reformulation process, the theoretical tools of the history of emotions are used, which allows us to focus on the transit. Remedios Varo's trace consists not only of her paintings –one of the best expressions of her subjectivity and system of thought– but also of letters, surrealist games and notes in the margins of her works through which she relates to her community. The relationship between subjective and emotional expression opens the way for a deeper analysis of how identity is reformulated in exile
