Sumario:In 2020, a new version of the Declaration of Human Rights in Islam, or Cairo Declaration, has been approved, in which women’s rights are recognized, but that it continues to refer to Islam’s values and principles. The text seems to open up to an understanding of women's rights contained in western human rights texts. Is it really so? In this work I want to answer this question, as well as whether the Sharía can allow an interpretation and understanding of women's rights and equality with men, with special reference to the family environment
