| Sumario: | Blockchain technology has been gaining increasing attention in the energy sector, where one of its most promising application seems to be Peer-to-Peer (P2P) energy trading. Several startups and power companies are running proof-of-concept and pilot projects all over the world to test this specific use case. However, despite a lot of work being done to address the technical and regulatory aspects related to P2P energy trading, our understanding of the human aspects affecting the adoption of this new paradigm for decentralized power supply is still very limited. The development of a decentralized energy market poses interesting challenges to the HCI community and raises important questions that need to be answered: What is the perceived usefulness of P2P energy trading? Do people understand this new paradigm? Are they aware of their role as market players? In order to dive deep into people understanding of P2P energy trading, this project aims at designing and testing the effectiveness of several ways of representing the complex dynamics behind energy consumption, production and exchange. The expected output consists identifying a set of guidelines for designing P2P energy trading platform and foster users understanding and engagement in the decentralized energy market. |
