Descripción
Sumario:This paper presents the initial results concerning the beliefs and attitudes of Sevillian university students towards the normative varieties of Spanish, mainly towards their own variety. The design methodology that we followed is based on the PRECAVES XXI Project. All subjects completed graduate or postgraduate studies related to the field of linguistics or Spanish language. Specifically, two groups were contrasted: students without specialized knowledge about the geolectal and social varieties of Spanish and those who have acquired it in their academic career. The data obtained help us to know which variety is considered most prestigious and how the participants judge their own accent and other dialects of the Hispanic world.
