The central role of materials in heterogeneous catalytic intensified processes

The development of an intensified process, it is not only a question of finding synergies between process intensification and catalyst, but also finding the most suitable material for the framework conditions of the new process, which in most cases differs from the conventional process. Sumario:The development of an intensified process, it is not only a question of finding synergies between process intensification and catalyst, but also finding the most suitable material for the framework conditions of the new process, which in most cases differs from the conventional process. In this paper I present lessons learnt and future perspectives in heterogeneous catalysis for different intensification strategies including, membrane reactors, structured reactors and process electrification with microwaves.
