Sumario:European legislation aims to achieve good groundwater chemical status. It is essential to monitor and detect trends in the increase of pollutants concentration. Despite the importance of this point, there is no specific test to detect these trends, so various tests are commonly applied. In this work, a combination of parametric (linear regression), non-parametric (Mann-Kendall) and descriptive (Ozgur) methods is proposed. This methodological proposal has been applied to data from the groundwater quality control network of Fuente de Piedra (Málaga, Southern Spain) groundwater body. The irregularity of the data series and the important degree of exploitation of this groundwater body make this system an ideal scenario for contrasting these types of methods
