| Sumario: | Structural membranes are usually supported or complemented by rigid elements such as masts, beams or arches made of steel, timber and even concrete or masonry. The membrane itself carries the external loads to the supporting structure. So the design model has to be hybrid and the subsystems should be analyzed together, but they are often analyzed separately. The comparison of the results obtained with both procedures demonstrates that the separation is expensive because the interactions, especially the deformations, are favourable. |
