| Sumario: | [EN] Since 1808 the Spanish Monarchy got into a deep ideological crisis through which both, individual and collective lifes were affected. Many called for press freedom as to strengthen public opinion, which in fact had been introduced by the Court of Cádiz in 1810. This article aims to analyze the origins of public opinion in Cuba (means, messages, censorship, silence and terminology) as well as its social and cultural extents through journals such as La Concordia Cubana(that could be translated as “The Cuban harmony”) and it is based on conceptual methodology. |
