Sumario:This paper aims to analyze the use of language learning strategies in foreign language learning by graduate students. Two main objectives of this study are: 1) to analyze the use of the categories of language learning strategies in studying a foreign language, and 2) to determine the use of specific strategies which make up category. The results reveal that students tend to use Metacognitive and Affective strategies. Learners use the rest of language learning strategy categories following this order: Compensation, Cognitive, Social and Memorization.
