Descripción
Sumario:[EN] The presence of a chaise longue by Le Corbusier / Perriand / Jeanneret in Edgar Neville's flat, refurbished in 1927 by Carlos Arniches and Martín Domínguez, invites us to discuss the early works of the pair of architects, their relationship with Le Corbusier and the reception and presence in Spain of the Swiss architect. It also studies the refurbishment of Neville's flat in the historical and stylistic context of the mid-1920s, situated in the transition between the first historical avant-gardes - Cubism, Futurism, Expressionism... - and the arrival of Le Corbusier's rationalist functionalism. The fact that the lectures given by Filippo Tommaso Marinetti and Le Corbusier at the Residencia de Estudiantes in Madrid in 1928 coincided within a few months of each other helps to trace the transition between the different avant-garde trends and to delve deeper into the architect's thinking on furniture, one of the themes included in his talks in Madrid and Barcelona.
