| Sumario: | The poetic anthologies of foreign works not only show interest for the translation itself of the poems they offer to the reader, but also for many other factors. First, for the important role they play in the dissemination of these works in other countries. And not least of all, for their contribution to building the image of a certain poet abroad. In this paper, we will address this issue from the study of the poetic anthology titled "Poesia italiana contemporania" that prepared the Catalan poet Narcis Comadira in 1990. Precisely, we will focus on the analysis of the poems by Giuseppe Ungaretti that Comadira included in and translated for this anthology, offering a certain reading of Ungaretti's work, which is due entirely to the personal preferences of the translator. |
