| Sumario: | [EN] The hippodrome of Tor di Valle (1959), by Spanish architect Julio Lafuente, is a challenge both in design and development, making it a model reference of the architecture of its time. The solution of its thin concrete shell and the spatial structure of the stands suggest a sign of modernity and constructive rationality, and the enormous dimensions of the pieces as a whole give the stands an extraordinary expressive power. Despite all of this, the building is currently in danger of being demolished. Therefore, the objective of this article is to make public a piece of work that, in spite of its beauty, has gone unnoticed in the last few decades, and to contribute to preventing its disappearance. |
