| Sumario: | The RbTiOPO4 is a bifunctional nonlinear crystal. It can be doped with Yb3+ up to concentrations able to get emission laser around 1 'm, as well as to obtain Second Harmonic Generation. These characteristics make it interesting for photonic applications. In fact, this field of research is looking for a multifunctional material able to be the base for optical chips. In summary: the aim of this doctoral thesis is to investigate the possibilities of (Yb,Nb):RTP/RTP (001) epitaxial layers as a substrate for photonic applications. The thesis focuses on the fabrication of epitaxies, planar and channel waveguides, as well as the consequent characterization. Have been used different methods for the channel waveguides fabrication, in order to investigate the versatility of (Yb,Nb):RTP/RTP (001) in front of the common used techniques in this field. |
