Descripción
Sumario:This thesis presents a method to optimize the power generation of an offshore floating wind farm during its design phase. The basic principle of the presented method is the reduction of the wake effect on the wind farm, which improves the power generated in each turbine, by means of numerical simulations using openfast and fast.Farm. Besides the maximization of the power generation, the space used by the wind farm has also been assessed, in an effort to reduce the area occupied by the turbines. The wind turbine model used is the oc3 hywind, coupled with a nrel 5mw turbine. The models have been verified and several wind farm layouts have been simulated.
