Sumario:[EN] The rate and prevalence of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is increasing according to recent studies. Spain has certified one case for every 150 children. This increase in recognized population with ASD is due to several factors. On the one hand, the system of identification of cases has improved. On the other hand, there are some theories about biological and social factors that produce a real increase of the cases. The educational process for these children requires special characteristics compared to the ones that children without ASD follow. These characteristics make it difficult to put into practice, so there are specialized schools and special classrooms in regular schools where their needs are addressed, but the resources seem not enough. In the past years, it seems that the use of technology in the field of education and educational processes has reported positive and interesting results. So, technology can provide interesting tools to the field of special education, as we scope in this work development. This report exposes the planning, development and validation of the first phase of a system of tutoring for children with ASD. The system aspires to support multiple schools, special and regular schools, both nationally and internationally. The work development is part of the research field of cognitive rehabilitation and special education, research line developed from the Institute of Automation and Industrial Informatics (AI2) of the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV), which is currently in a finding funding process, both nationally and internationally. Based on TEACCH educational methodology, we try to exploit the new information technologies and smart devices to develop a system whose aim is to recreate the typical work environment needed by children with ASD. Recreation may be made in any space regardless of their location, whether in a regular school or at the children’s home, without relying on a specific Communication and Language Classroom (Aula CyL). To evaluate the system, we have been helped by the MIRA'M Foundation, dedicated to supporting people with ASD and their families and educators, which also has its own and approved special school.
