Descripción
Sumario:This article aims to highlight the vital trajectory of one of the most important personalities in the last resistance to Borbon troops of Felipe V on 11 September 1714 in Barcelona, bringing to light the wavering and changes in the position of different individuals during the succession conflict and reasons for these changes. Fluctuations during development of the War of the Spanish Succession, and its uncertain ending for its participants, had a direct influence on the position adopted during the conflict by some of the protagonists, such as D. Antonio Castillo y Chirino, who went on modulating his vital trajectory from a passionate defense of Felipe V to a radical embrace of Austracism to the bitter end. We will try to establish the main milestones in his life, the different causes which could explain his vital switch and his relationship ith the events of the war.
