Descripción
Sumario:[EN] The Guevara Palace of Segura, built by the Lieutenant of the High Steward of Queen Isabel the Catholic, represents the only example of 15th-century Castilian palatial architecture built in Gipuzkoa. Despite this relevant particularity and its declaration as a national historical-artistic monument, till the date, its architectural characterization, profoundly transformed over five centuries, has not been studied in depth. This research proposes an approach to the original project through a graphic restitution that explains the successive transformations of the work, identifying them by chronological phases. In order to understand the singular fact of its construction, the particular relationship between its promoter and the context of the Castilian palatial architecture of the time has been analyzed. Likewise, an exhaustive search of graphic and notarial documentary references, of a descriptive nature, has been carried out in order to outline the architectural and symbolic identity of the work.
