| Sumario: | This article's starting point is the definition of the organic farming concept. Basic data on the development of the Spanish organic sector in recent years are presented. In addition, the specific characteristics defining the two reference regions, Catalonia and Galicia, are detailed. These characteristics are drawn from the conclusions of field work carried out through interviews with a sample of producers. The objective of this field work was to increase knowledge about the organic production sector in the two study regions. The result is an outline of the defining characteristics in each of these regional areas. |
