| Resumo: | [EN] Before undertaking any study of the Jewish communities that inhabited the territory of what is now the Autonomous Community of Galicia during the Late Middle Ages, one must take into account the scarcity of both bibliographic and documentary sources on the subject. The documentation on the Jewish community of Pontevedra was no exception, and very little information about it has survived; however, three documents stand out above all others, as they confirm the existence of a Jewish cemetery and its possible location—something truly exceptional within the Galician context. When combined with the discovery in 2002 of two Hebrew tombstones, which had been reused as flooring in a house, this confirms the existence of an organized Jewish community in the city of Pontevedra. [ES] Antes de abordar el estudio de cualquier aspecto referido a las comunidades judías que habitaron en el territorio de la actual Comunidad Autónoma de Galicia duranta la Baja Edad Media hay que tener en cuenta la escasez tanto de fuentes bibliográficas como documentales referidas al tema. La documentación sobre la comunidad judía de Pontevedra no fue una excepción y son muy pocos los datos conservados sobre ella, sin embargo, tres documentos destacan sobre todos ellos ya que confirman la existencia de un cementerio judío y su posible localización, algo realmente excepcional dentro del panorama gallego. Si a esto se une la aparición en 2002 de dos lápidas hebreas, reaprovechadas como suelo de una casa, se confirma la existencia de una comunidad judía organizada en la ciudad de Pontevedra. |
