Sumario:ABSTRACT: Open Science has revolutionized the process of creation and exchange of scientific knowledge, emerging as a new paradigm with the ability of allowing a qualitative leap decisive for promoting and accelerating innovation. Nowadays, modern research relies on data-intensive computing resources to run the computational models, generally known as research software, which is able to generate, process and analyse experimental data. Hence, research software is a key actor for the creation of scientific knowledge and a fundamental pillar for the Open Science realisation. The subject of study of the present work is contextualised in the implementation of the so-called European Open Science Cloud. Its initial steps are showcasing an inadequate attention to the software that enable the services offered to European researchers through the catalogue. Thus, the main contribution of this study lies in the formulation and practical demonstration of a quality assurance process for research software, viable as a tool to estimate, through automation, the usability of the services offered through the European Open Science Cloud.
