Sumario:A critica1 revision -in the way of an essay- of the theoretical and practica1 aspects underlying environmental education is presented. The relationship between the scientific training (formal and experimen- tal) and the knowledge acquired through environmental education is studied. Special attention is paid to the aspects derived from the relationships between environmental education and the habits, attitudes and behaviours, as well as the present-day trends of educative research in the field of environmental pedagogy.
