| Sumario: | Cultural change is often accompanied by social progress and change, e.g., gender equality, and the coexistence of people from different cultural backgrounds, which helps promote inclusiveness and understanding and reduces cultural conflicts. However, most of the actual research explores cultural changes based on the state and society level, thus few studies are focusing on corporate cultural evolution. For this reason, this paper, from the perspective of Modernization Theory, analyzes both the trend of cultural changes in the United States and the evolution of Apple Inc.'s corporate culture. As a result, this paper demonstrates that the core pursuit for liberation and self-expression values in America's Civil Rights Movement and Counterculture Movement, and shifts from survivalist values to free expression model in Apple's Sculley Era and Think Different Era, are all consistent with Modernization Theory's emphasis on economic impacts and value differences during the modernization process. Gaining a profound comprehension of these alterations in a given period will enable us to use Modernization Theory more effectively in practice and serve as a valuable source for other nations and businesses to have more significant advancements and discoveries in this field. |
